Prenatal FAQ

Are there any special requirements during pregnancy?

Before booking your first group class, please contact our studio to inform us about your pregnancy. You must inform your instructor what week you are up to at the beginning of each class, as modifications of certain exercises will be required. We reserve the right to ask you to have your Obstetrician complete a Pregnancy Authorisation to Exercise Form and return it to us upon arrival for your class.

I’m pregnant – can I still attend group classes?

It depends how far you are in your pregnancy. If you are new to Real Pilates, we ask that you only start our prenatal classes after you obtain your doctor's clearance. For current clients, in addition to prenatal classes, you may be allowed to attend specific group classes but you would need to first obtain one of our instructors approval.

Can I bring my baby to my group class or private session?

No you cannot. We do not recommend bringing your baby to the studio as we do not provide childcare services. Please organise a babysitter to look after your baby off the premises.

How long before I can attend Real Pilates classes after birth?

We ask that you wait until after you receive the all clear from after your 6th week Obstetrician check up to make sure that your body is healing well and there are no abdominal separation issues.
