First Timers FAQ

Should I start with a group class or a private session?

That depends on each person. 99% of our new clients do just fine attending a Pilates Core class. With less than 20 clients per class for mat and 10 for reformer classes, our awesome trainers can easily modify exercises to suit various abilities. Although still quite intense, classes are broken down using simple exercises so all individuals get the most out of their workout. If you have chronic back pain, are coming back from an injury or are pregnant, a one-on-one session would be best to assess your situation.

Which class do I start with?

You should always start with our signature Pilates Core or Reformer Core classes even if you have done Pilates elsewhere or are quite fit. Real Pilates uses a lot of small muscle groups, you’ll be surprised how challenging the class might be and may need to build up your strength. You also need to familiarise yourself with the STOTT PILATES dynamic training method, basic principles and exercises, so that you get the most benefit from your workout.

What do I need to know before my first class?

Please arrive 10 minutes early to your first class. This will allow you to familiarise yourself with the studio, fill out a registration form and meet your instructor. If you’re late to your first class you might not be able to train. No mobile phones during classes - please be respectful to others.

What should I wear?

Appropriate clothing is essential as you are going to work out and sweat! We recommend gym tights, leggings or shorts and either a t-shirt or singlet top. For mat classes, you can train in bare feet but socks are welcome (grip socks recommended). For Body Burn, trainers are optional. For all equipment classes, socks are mandatory.

Do you offer a free trial class?

To truly experience the tangible effect of Pilates, you would need more than just one session; that is why we have designed a specially discounted Trial Offer that allows you to do 5 classes - you can mix mat and equipment formats - over a period of 2 weeks for just AED 365. That is only AED 73 per class!

Can I book my first session online?

Sure! Simply visit the Buy Packages page. Once you have an active package, download the Real Pilates App to create your account. Our team will validate your account (within a few minutes during working hours and 12 hours outside). You will then be able to book your first class. We recommend you explore our class types to choose the one that is right for you. Otherwise, give us a call and we'll happily assist you.

Do you have "ladies only" classes?

Yes, many! They are clearly indicated on our online timetable and highlighted in orange colour on our printed timetables.

What facilities and amenities do you offer?

We normally provide complimentary towels, showers with full amenities and changing room facilities along with lockers. However due to Covid-19 , in line with Dubai Government instructions, mats and towels are not available anymore.

We provide filtered water or mineral water dispensers, but you are requested to bring your own refillable water bottles.

I only want to do Barre or Body Burn, can I?

Yes, you can start with these workouts. You'll find however that complementing these classes with Pilates Core and Reformer Core will help you get the most out of your workout in the safest and most effective way.
